The first people to inhabit Greece built settlements along its shores. They relied on the agean sea for trade and supplies. They traveled and got to know other cultures. They learnt western agriculture and various techniques of metalwork. There were also various communities that developed around that time; the Ageans; the Achaeans; and the Pelasgians.
Regions were ruled by a council and king, but they were often not democratic, the kings were most always tyrants and the system was unstable.
